Charissa Lowe is a nurse practitioner with over 23 years of experience. She graduated from Lander University in Greenwood, SC with her bachelors in nursing in 2001. She has worked at some of the largest teaching hospitals on the East Coast including Yale University Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, The Medical University of SC, and Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. She got her masters’ degree in nursing in 2011 from the University of South Carolina and became an acute care nurse practitioner at that time. She then worked in an acute care/surgical care realm up until about seven years ago when she changed from an allopathic or mainstream medical role to more of an integrative approach to patient care. After seeing patients & family struggle greatly in the traditional healthcare system she switched gears to work in a functional endocrine & hormone role supporting patients with bio identical hormone consultations, and recommendations. She is passionate about giving people back the reins to wellness and helping them get off prescription meds through the use of simplistic recommendations and exploring root cause issues. When she is not working, she is a wife to Rick and mother to four kids. They all live on a small homestead in Gilbert, SC and she enjoys homeschooling her children and spending time in God’s word.
